terra - Spatial Data Analysis

Methods for spatial data analysis with vector (points, lines, polygons) and raster (grid) data. Methods for vector data include geometric operations such as intersect and buffer. Raster methods include local, focal, global, zonal and geometric operations. The predict and interpolate methods facilitate the use of regression type (interpolation, machine learning) models for spatial prediction, including with satellite remote sensing data. Processing of very large files is supported. See the manual and tutorials on <https://rspatial.org/> to get started.

Recocrop - Estimating Environmental Suitability for Plants

The ecocrop model estimates environmental suitability for plants using a limiting factor approach for plant growth following Hackett (1991) <doi:10.1007/BF00045728>. The implementation in this package is fast and flexible: it allows for the use of any (environmental) predictor variable. Predictors can be either static (for example, soil pH) or dynamic (for example, monthly precipitation).

Rquefts - Quantitative Evaluation of the Native Fertility of Tropical Soils

An implementation of the QUEFTS (Quantitative Evaluation of the Native Fertility of Tropical Soils) model. The model (1) estimates native nutrient (N, P, K) supply of soils from a few soil chemical properties; and (2) computes crop yield given that supply, crop parameters, fertilizer application, and crop attainable yield. See Janssen et al. (1990) <doi:10.1016/0016-7061(90)90021-Z> for the technical details and Sattari et al. (2014) <doi:10.1016/j.fcr.2013.12.005> for a recent evaluation and improvements. There are also functions to compute optimal fertilizer application rates.
